How To Set Up A New Espresso Machine

  1. Unpack the machine and check for all the parts, such as a portafilter, tamper, frothing pitcher, and accessories. Familiarize yourself with the machine by reading the instruction manual.
  2. Rinse the machine by filling the water tank with fresh water and running it for a few minutes to remove any dust or debris accumulated during shipping.
  3. Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water after rinsing the machine. Most machines have removable water tanks that can be filled at the sink.
  4. Preheat the machine for at least 15-20 minutes to ensure optimal brewing temperature. Check the user manual for a chart indicating the temperature setting to reach the desired temperature on the brew head. The machine should brew at 9 bar and steam pressure at 2 bar, but some people use a different pressure setup for different beans or prefer higher temperatures for lighter roasts to extract more flavor. ( I brew light roast with a longer time at 96 °C )

Here is what my user manual look like.
